Isabella Sthl's debut book is an intimate depiction of the shifting nature of desire. Yet, instead of forcing meaning, her work elevates quietly as a tool - an entity in of itself. She moves among her subjects, exploring them just enough to get a glimpse of their being. The fleeting falling of a snowflake in front of her lens, a starkly painted red barn. Everything is careful, yet immediate. Steering a thousand miles away from her contemporaries, Sthl's work imparts no predetermined lesson, it's a transparent and humble analysis. In a world constantly fixated on purpose and meaning, Sn recognizes the power of art, relentlessly changing in the very moment we define it.

Isabella Sthl is a photographer born and raised in the northern part of Sweden. She started shooting around age 15, when she left her hometown to study media at High School in Stockholm. Isabella has attended the one-year General Studies program at the International Center of Photography in New York, and has lived and worked as a freelance photographer in Paris, New York and Stockholm. She is currently based in Stockholm, Sweden.
